XJTAG is a world-leading developer of electronics testing products. We started with JTAG boundary scan systems, and have grown to provide a range of in-circuit-test, debugging and programming solutions to our customers all over the world.

We are looking for a proactive, innovative and adaptable engineer to join XJTAG’s rapidly growing engineering to develop new products which solve our customers’ problems. In this role, you will be involved not just in new product development but also consultancy projects and support for our existing products. We believe great engineers have a deep understanding of the technology and work closely with customers to truly understand what they are doing and why. As in any small business, you will get involved in a wide range of tasks, often not strictly ‘in the job description’ to help and support the whole business.

Your success will be seen in the delivery of projects that have measurable customer impact, whether in terms of new product development or creating bespoke applications for customers. In your work, you will reflect our empathetic & supportive, straightforward, innovative and committed values.

Responsibilities

  • Innovate and develop novel products that contribute to the business, managing project risks and resolving competing requirements
  • Manage your own time and your contribution to projects proactively, communicating clearly with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Manage conflicting priorities between short-term customer applications and projects and long-term product development, contributing to the business achieving its goals
  • Follow, and further improve, product development processes, ensuring that our products are not just functional but manufacturable, reliable, sustainable and futureproof

Requirements

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an inquisitive approach to new technologies
  • A strong, foundational understanding of digital electronics, FPGAs and embedded microprocessors
  • Some experience of common laboratory equipment, design tools, methods and best-practice
  • Preferably some experience of writing HDL code or microcontroller firmware
  • Experience of developing working electronics, whether proof-of-concepts or prototypes
  • Awareness of the product lifecycle and how to carry out end-to-end product development
  • Proactive, communication and planning so that opportunities can be exploited and risks mitigated
  • Permission to work in the UK

Benefits

  • A relaxed, friendly and inclusive working environment in our office on the edge of Cambridge
  • 25 days paid annual leave (+8 bank holidays)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Life assurance (3x salary)
  • Enterprise Management Incentive (EMI) share scheme
  • Training and development provided both internally and externally
  • Employee assistance programme with a range of wellbeing measures and benefits

If you meet these requirements and are looking for new and exciting challenges, email your CV to recruitment@xjtag.com.
