Setup Program Command-line Switches

The XJTAG setup program accepts a number of command-line switches to customise its behaviour:

/log

Write detailed log files out to the temporary directory for use by XJTAG technical support when troubleshooting installer issues. The installer will create two files, XJTAG.setup.a.b.c.log and XJTAG.msi.a.b.c.log (where a.b.c is the version of XJTAG being installed). The quickest way to find the temporary directory is to press Windows Key + R, type %TEMP% and press Enter.

/location directory

Specifies the default directory to install XJTAG into overriding the usual location, which is typically c:\Program Files\XJTAG a.b (or c:\Program Files (x86)\XJTAG a.b). Note, that the installer will still allow the user to change the location – this only changes the default value. This switch is most useful when combined with the /quiet switch.

/shared directory

Specifies an alternative location for XJTAG shared files, such as the XJEase library, XJRunner users database and example projects. By default these go into the Shared Documents folder, which is typically at c:\Users\Public\Documents. In some cases it is not possible for the installer to write to this folder, so a different folder needs to be selected. This switch is available in XJTAG v3.11.4 and later.

/quiet

Causes the installer to install everything automatically with no user interaction.
