XJTAG short-listed in ‘Start-up of the Year’ category at 2004 European Electronics Industry Awards

CAMBRIDGE, England, October 18, 2004 XJTAG Limited, a specialist design and test tool developer and part of the Cambridge Technology Group, has been short-listed in the ‘Start-up of the Year’ category for this year’s European Electronics Industry Awards.

The Awards recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in the electronics industry across the UK and Europe. This year’s gala dinner and awards ceremony will be held in Munich, Germany on the 9 November 2004 in conjunction with Messe München’s Electronica – the 21st International Trade Fair for Components and assemblies in Electronics.

“We are thrilled to have been nominated for recognition at these prestigious, pan-European awards,” said Dominic Plunkett, chief technology officer of XJTAG. “This is fantastic news for the company as it demonstrates, yet again, the huge talent that we have within our team.”

XJTAG was spun out as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Cambridge Technology Group in February 2003 to bring to market its boundary scan development system. Funded by the directors and through a £55,000 SMART Award from the UK government, the powerful and easy-to-use XJTAG Development System was launched in July 2003 to meet the growing market need for cost-effective tools which could test smaller more tightly packed circuit boards increasingly populated by Ball Grid Arrays (BGAs) and chip scale devices.

Already, board developers within market leading companies, such as ARM, Benchmark Electronics, Cambridge Broadband, Celoxica, IPWireless, Thales Defence and TTPCom, are choosing the XJTAG system due to its competitive price and the reusability and portability of test scripts which enables printed circuits to be tested and debugged in days as opposed to weeks with many other comparable boundary scan systems.
