XJTAG is a world-leading developer of electronics testing products. We started with JTAG boundary scan systems, and have grown to provide a range of in-circuit-test, debugging and programming solutions to our customers all over the world.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and innovative engineer to join XJTAG’s rapidly growing engineering team who enjoys taking new products all the way from concept to the hands of our customers. You will be a key player in XJTAG’s product development. We believe great engineers have a deep understanding of the technology and work closely with customers to truly understand what they are doing and why. As in any small business, you will get involved in many different aspects of work and you will work with others to make lasting improvements that affect the whole business.

Responsibilities

  • Use your expertise to develop both firmware and embedded software, working closely with both electronics and software engineers
  • Create novel design solutions, with responsibility all the way from requirements capture through all the steps of the product development cycle to the hands of our customers
  • Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to define requirements and design products and applications which meet their needs
  • Manage new product development projects involving multiple engineers, supporting and mentoring others in the team

Requirements

  • Has developed designs for a range of applications in at least one of VHDL and Verilog
  • Competent in low-level C and embedded application code for microprocessors and peripherals
  • Able to articulate basic architecture and design considerations for using ARM cores
  • Some experience of software development best-practice, object orientation and coding in C#
  • Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Able to assess and manage risks, priorities and resources and model that approach to others
  • Leadership, by positively influencing the behaviour of others and working closely as a team
  • Permission to work in the UK
